In the shadows of the Vietnam War, the CIA conducted a secret war in Laos that relied on Hmong soldiers known as “the secret army” to prevent the threat of communism from spreading deeper into Southeast Asia.

In the Hmong culture we use Paj Ntaub, which means, “Flower Cloth” as a way to tell our stories through a traditional form of Hmong textile and embroidery. Here you have the classic story
of the Secret War told on the Paj Ntaub of this shirt.
